don’t stop the present

another nintendo DS-based piece.

again, i used glitchDS to create some loops. but instead of playing or singing over them, i decided to dip into the bank of “field” recordings i’d made for the abandoned summer project [which had been intended to be used mainly for segues between songs], sample a bunch of talking and stick it into it.

turned out quite well, i think.

all of the clips used in this were recorded in nagasaki on 11 may of this year, when there was a fireworks display going on – and the weather was strangely chilly…

well… keep singing?

a bit of a frankensteined creation here…

i’d created a couple of electronicky loopy things using glitchDS, which sounded pretty interesting, but upon which, i had trouble expanding.

and then i had similar issues with this piece i’d come up with on my neighbour/friend jonathan’s classical guitar, which – unusually for me – involved some fingerpicking and some odd time signature changes.

and, well, i just sort of threw them together.

do they fit? eh… i chopped up the loops a bit to fit the timing of the guitars, but i’m still not sure…
